Getting started
Your event in 7 steps
- Create your organiser area. On Create my area: your first and last name, your email address, a password, the name of your organisation and its type (association, club, company…). Free, no commitment.
- Confirm your email address. Click the link in the email you received (valid for 48 hours). Nothing arrived? Check your spam folder, then use Resend the email in the banner of your dashboard.
- Complete “My organisation”. Logo, contact details, postal address, company number if applicable — and above all the choice Who pays the service fees?, required before you publish a paid event (see below).
- Link your Mollie account in Payments — only if you sell paid tickets. No account? Next-Ticket creates one for you, pre-filled with your details (details).
- Create your event in My events → New event: title, venue, poster, then at least one date and one price (a price of 0 € makes a free ticket).
- Publish and share. The Publish button becomes active as soon as nothing is missing; the “Before publishing” list tells you what is left to do. Then share the event link on your website, social media and emails.
- Track your sales and check people in. Sales tracking in real time, CSV exports, and on the day: the scanner in the browser of any phone (see Entry check).
Your dashboard shows a “To do before selling” list: confirmed email address, fee choice, postal address, active Mollie account. Each line takes you straight to the right screen.
How do I represent my activity in Next-Ticket?
Everything rests on three building blocks: the event (what you sell), its dates (when it takes place) and its prices (the types of tickets). A few common cases:
- A concert, a dinner, a conference on a single evening: one event, one date, one or more prices (Adult, Student, Child…).
- A show performed several times: a single event with several dates. Each date has its own capacity and sales window; the buyer picks their performance.
- A club and its season: one event per match, with Adult, Child, Member prices… Each match has its own page and its own link.
- An open day, a free workshop: a 0 € price. No commission, no Mollie account needed: registrants still receive a ticket with a QR code.
- A course over several days: a single date covering the whole period (start and end), or one date per day if people register day by day.
How do I test before opening sales?
- Preview: while the event is a draft, you (and signed-in members of your organisation) can see its public page exactly as your buyers will. Buying is not possible there.
- Real-life test: publish the event with visibility By link only — it does not appear on your public page — with a free price, and place an order yourself. You receive the email and the PDF, and can scan the ticket.
- Then remove or deactivate the test price, and switch the visibility to Public.
The life cycle of an event
- Draft: being prepared, invisible to the public (except in preview).
- Published: on sale, according to the sales opening and closing times of each date and each price.
- Suspended: sales are temporarily stopped; Publish restarts them.
- Cancelled: the event is no longer visible.
Once a paid order exists, an event can no longer be put back to draft or cancelled from your area: use Suspend sales and contact us (see Cancelling an event).
Pricing and commission
How much does Next-Ticket cost?
0,25 € + 1 % excl. VAT per paid ticket (plus 21 % VAT). That's all:
- no subscription, no setup fee, no minimum;
- nothing on free tickets;
- nothing on unsold tickets.
| Ticket price | Commission incl. VAT | If the buyer pays the fees, they pay | If you bear them, you receive |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5,00 € | 0,36 € | 5,36 € | 4,64 € |
| 10,00 € | 0,42 € | 10,42 € | 9,58 € |
| 20,00 € | 0,54 € | 20,54 € | 19,46 € |
| 50,00 € | 0,91 € | 50,91 € | 49,09 € |
Amounts before Mollie's transaction fees, which are charged on top on your Mollie account (see below).
Who pays the service fees: me or the buyer?
You decide, in My organisation → Who pays the service fees?:
- My buyers pay the fees: the price shown is your price plus the fees, clearly stated from the price list onwards. You receive your full price (e.g. 10 € ticket: the buyer pays 10,42 €).
- I bear the fees: the buyer sees a single price, yours; the fees are deducted from what you receive (e.g. 10 € ticket: you receive 9,58 €).
This choice applies to the whole organisation, but each event can change it (Service fees for this event). It is required before you publish a paid event.
Once a ticket has been sold, the fee choice is locked for that event.
What about Mollie's fees?
Mollie, your payment provider, charges its own transaction fees on your Mollie account — for example around 0,39 € per Bancontact payment. They depend on the payment method and your Mollie contract, and remain yours to pay whatever you choose for the service fees. See Mollie's pricing.
How is the commission collected? Will I get an invoice?
The commission is calculated on every order and deducted automatically from the payment, directly on your Mollie account. You have nothing to pay or transfer. The breakdown by date and by order is in Sales tracking (column Commission incl. VAT).
To receive our invoices in your organisation's name, enter your company and VAT numbers in My organisation.
Is the commission returned if I refund a ticket?
No. The refund itself costs nothing extra, but the commission collected at purchase is kept, including if the event is cancelled or the payment is disputed (article 5 of the terms of use).
Payments (Mollie)
Why Mollie? Does Next-Ticket hold my money?
No, never. Your buyers pay directly into your own Mollie account, a payment institution licensed in Europe. Next-Ticket only has access to what is strictly necessary: creating and reading the payments for your events, and knowing the status of your account. Mollie then pays the balance out to your bank account, on the schedule you choose at Mollie.
A Mollie account is only needed for paid tickets. An entirely free event does not need one.
I don't have a Mollie account: how do I open one?
- First fill in your organisation's address, postcode and town in My organisation.
- In Payments, click Create my Mollie account: Mollie opens an account pre-filled with your details (name, address, company and VAT numbers).
- Finish at Mollie: identity of the person responsible, bank account, requested documents. This is the legal check (“KYC”) every payment institution must carry out.
- Back on Next-Ticket, the status becomes linked, under review, then active once Mollie has approved your file. The Refresh button updates the status.
You can prepare and even publish your event while Mollie reviews your file; payments will only be possible once the account is active.
I already have a Mollie account
In Payments, click Link my Mollie account, sign in at Mollie and accept the access Next-Ticket requests. You are brought back to your area automatically, account linked.
What do the statuses of my Mollie account mean?
- not linked: no Mollie account is connected — you can only sell free tickets.
- linked, under review: Mollie has not finished checking your file. The Complete my file at Mollie link shows what is missing.
- active: all set, your buyers can pay.
- access revoked: the permission given to Next-Ticket was withdrawn at Mollie. Link your account again.
Which payment methods can my buyers use?
All those you enable in your Mollie account: Bancontact, Payconiq, Visa and Mastercard cards, Apple Pay, iDEAL, etc. You manage the list directly in your Mollie dashboard.
When will I receive the money from my sales?
The money reaches your Mollie account with every payment. Mollie then transfers it to your bank account according to the payout schedule chosen in your Mollie settings. You don't wait until the event is over.
Can I switch to another Mollie account?
Yes: Unlink in Payments, then link the other account. As long as no account is linked, your paid events cannot take payments.
Your organisation
What goes into “My organisation”?
- Public identity: name, description and logo (PNG or JPEG, 512 KB max) — what your buyers see on your page and on their tickets.
- Contact details: the contact email is where your buyers' replies land when they answer the email with their tickets; the address is printed on the tickets.
- Business: company and VAT numbers — optional, but needed to receive our invoices in your organisation's name.
- Service fees: who pays them.
Does my organisation have its own page?
Yes: www.next-ticket.fr/your-name. It lists all your events published with Public visibility. Each event also has its own address, …/your-name/event-name, to share everywhere.
The end of the address (the “slug”) comes from your organisation's name; you can change it in My organisation. Change it before you spread your links: an old shared link would no longer lead anywhere.
Next-Ticket.be, .fr, .ro: what's the difference?
It is the same service. Your organisation's country (taken from the site where you signed up, changeable in My organisation) determines the domain of your public pages and tickets. Prices are always in euros.
Changing my password, language or details
In My account: first name, last name, phone, interface language (French, Dutch, English, Romanian) and password. Forgot your password? Use the link on the sign-in page: you receive a link valid for 2 hours.
For security, after 5 failed sign-in attempts the account is locked for 15 minutes.
Can several people manage my organisation?
An organisation has three roles: owner, administrator and read only (views everything without changing anything, and can scan tickets). To add a member to your team, write to us at support@next-ticket.fr.
Volunteers who only check people in don't need an account: give them the gate link.
If you belong to several organisations, Switch organisation takes you from one to the other.
Setting up an event
The event details
- Title, subtitle, category (concert, show, sport, festival…) and description.
- Poster: PNG or JPEG, 2 MB max. It illustrates the event page, social media shares and the PDF ticket.
- Venue: name of the hall and address, shown on the ticket and in the confirmation email.
- Instructions: door opening time, minimum age, forbidden items… They are printed on the ticket and repeated in the email.
- Visibility: Public (listed on your page and indexed by search engines) or By link only (open to anyone with the link: presale, private event, test).
- Content language: the purchase interface is translated automatically; the text you enter is shown as written.
Dates (sessions)
Every event has at least one date — even a one-off event. For each date:
- Start and End, in Belgian time;
- an optional Label (“Saturday show”, “2 pm session”…);
- Sales open and Sales close (empty = sales close when the session starts);
- a Capacity for all prices together (empty = unlimited). The date switches to “sold out” automatically.
A date can be cancelled. It can only be deleted if no ticket has been sold or reserved for it.
Prices (ticket types)
One price = one type of ticket: Adult, Student, Child, Member, Dinner + show… For each one:
- Price: your price, excluding service fees; 0 = free.
- Quota per date: the maximum number of tickets at this price per date (e.g. 20 “Student” places).
- Minimum and maximum per order (1 and 10 by default).
- Named ticket: the buyer enters each participant's name, printed on the ticket.
- A sales period of its own: handy for a presale or an “early bird” price that stops on a given date.
- Visible and active: to take a price off sale without deleting it.
Once a ticket at a price has been sold, that price is locked and can no longer be deleted. To charge a different amount, deactivate it and create a new one.
Opening or closing a price for one specific date
With several dates and several prices, the date × price grid lets you adjust the quota of each combination and open or close it — for instance no “Child” price for the 10 pm show. The system prevents any overselling, even if two buyers confirm at the same instant.
Publishing: what's needed first?
The Publish button stays inactive as long as the “Before publishing” list is not empty:
- at least one upcoming date;
- at least one active price;
- your confirmed email address;
- for a paid event: the choice of who pays the fees, and a linked Mollie account.
What can I change after the first sales?
Almost everything: description, poster, venue, instructions, capacities, new dates, new prices. What is locked from the first paid order: the event's address (slug), the service fee choice, the price of sold ticket types; and dates or prices with sales can no longer be deleted.
Changing the venue or the time? Tickets already issued carry the old information: let your buyers know (their addresses are in the orders CSV export).
Sales and participants
Tracking my sales in real time
Sales tracking, available from every event, shows:
- By date: sold, reserved (baskets in progress), remaining, tickets collected, commission;
- Participants: one ticket per line, searchable by name, ticket number or email, with a date filter;
- Orders: one order per line, with search and a status filter.
“Tickets collected” = your prices, without the service fees.
What do the order statuses mean?
- basket: the buyer is filling their basket; the places are held for 15 minutes.
- payment pending: the buyer is at Mollie.
- paid: done, the tickets have been sent.
- expired: the basket or payment was abandoned; the places go back on sale automatically.
- cancelled, refunded.
Exporting the participant list (Excel)
In Sales tracking, two CSV exports open directly in Excel:
- Participants: ticket number, name, price type, price, date, status, scan time, order, email;
- Orders: amounts, fees, commission, payment method.
Useful for a paper check-in list, a seating plan, or to write to your buyers.
A buyer didn't receive their tickets
- Ask them to check their spam folder and the spelling of their email address.
- Find their order in Sales tracking → Orders (by name, email or NT-… reference).
- Click Resend tickets: the email goes out again with the PDF.
Resending creates a new “My tickets” link; the old one stops working. The tickets themselves (QR codes) don't change.
Refunding a buyer
Refunds are made from your Mollie dashboard: find the payment (the order's NT-… reference is in its description) and refund it in full or in part. The money goes back to the buyer by the same payment method.
Next-Ticket is notified automatically. Once an order is refunded in full, it shows as “refunded” in your sales, its tickets are refused at the entrance and their seats go back on sale (except a ticket already scanned: its holder is inside).
A partial refund deactivates no ticket: Next-Ticket cannot tell which one it covers. Note the ticket number and tell your entry team, or write to us so we can cancel it.
Reminder: tickets carry no right of withdrawal (terms of sale); you are free to accept or refuse a refund outside of a cancellation.
A buyer disputes their payment with their bank
A buyer's bank sometimes reverses a payment: stolen card, stop order, dispute. Mollie then takes the amount back from your Mollie account and charges you a fee; the Next-Ticket commission remains due (article 7 of the terms of use).
Next-Ticket is notified automatically. Once an order is disputed in full, it shows as “disputed” in your sales and its tickets are refused at the entrance (“Payment disputed”). Their seats do not go back on sale: you can contest the dispute from your Mollie dashboard, and if the bank rules in your favour, the order and its tickets become valid again on their own.
A partial dispute deactivates no ticket; its amount is deducted from your sales, like a refund.
If you do not intend to contest a dispute and want to resell its seats, write to us.
Cancelling or postponing an event
With no sales: Cancel the event from its page. Once there are sales:
- Suspend sales to stop purchases immediately;
- let your buyers know (orders CSV export);
- if cancelling, refund them from Mollie;
- write to us at support@next-ticket.fr: we close the event with you.
To postpone, add the new date and stop sales on the old one. Tickets already sold stay attached to the old date: write to us before you contact your buyers, and we will organise the switch with you.
Entry check
Scanning tickets with a phone
No app to install: the scanner works in the browser of any smartphone, using its camera.
- In My events, tap Scan tickets on the event (or scan the gate link QR code).
- Allow access to the camera.
- Choose the date (today's is offered by default) and name your station (“Gate A”, “Box office”…).
- Hold up the QR codes: the result appears instantly, in colour.
Unreadable ticket (cracked screen, faint print)? Type its NTB-… number by hand.
Letting volunteers scan without creating accounts
Every event has a gate link, shown as a QR code in the Entry check section of the event page. Your volunteers scan it with their phone: the check-in page for this event only opens, with no username or password, for 36 hours.
Has the link leaked, or is the event over? Renew the link: the old codes stop working immediately.
Several entrances, several phones
As many phones as you like, at the same time, at the same entrance or at different ones. A ticket only gets in once: a second scan shows Already scanned, with the time and station of the first entry. The expected / present / refused counters are shared by all stations.
What do the scanner messages mean?
- Entry accepted: let them in.
- Already scanned: the ticket has already been used (time and station shown) — a copy, or a shared screenshot?
- Ticket for another date / Ticket for another event: a valid ticket, but not for today or not for here.
- Ticket cancelled / Ticket refunded: a ticket that is no longer valid.
- Unknown ticket / QR not recognised or forged: this QR code was not issued by Next-Ticket, or has been altered. Every QR code is cryptographically sealed.
Our tips for a smooth entry
- Test the scanner the day before with a test ticket.
- Check network coverage at the entrance (4G or Wi-Fi); bring a power bank.
- Ask buyers to turn up their screen brightness.
- Keep a printed copy of the participants CSV export as a backup.
For your buyers
How do your buyers buy their tickets?
- On the event page, they choose the date, the prices and the quantities.
- The basket holds the places for 15 minutes. They enter their first name, last name and email (and each participant's name for a named ticket).
- They pay at Mollie (Bancontact, Payconiq, card…).
- They immediately receive an email with their tickets as a PDF and a “My tickets” link that stays available.
No account to create, no password. A basket holds only one event at a time.
What's on the ticket?
Your logo and poster, the title, date, venue, price type, holder's name, price, ticket number (NTB-…), order reference (NT-…), your instructions and the QR code. It can be shown printed or on a phone.
The confirmation email is sent in your name: when the buyer replies, their reply goes to your contact email.
Your buyers' questions
- “I didn't receive my tickets”: resend them from Sales tracking.
- “I want to change the name on the ticket”: the ticket stays valid, the check is done on the QR code.
- “I want a refund”: that's your decision as the organiser (see Refunding).
- “The payment failed”: nothing has been charged; simply try again. The held places are released automatically shortly afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use Next-Ticket for a free event?
Yes, and it's completely free: no commission, no Mollie account. Your registrants get a ticket with a QR code, and you know the number of participants in advance.
Can I sell numbered seats?
Not yet: Next-Ticket handles unreserved seating. You can, however, create one price per area (“Stand”, “Stalls”, “Balcony”) with its own quota.
Can I offer a promo code or invitations?
Not yet. For invitations, a simple solution: a separate event with By link only visibility and a 0 € price, whose link you give only to your guests.
Can I sell from my own website?
Yes: place a button or link on your website to your event page or organisation page. The purchase happens on Next-Ticket, on mobile as well as desktop.
Can I sell tickets on the spot, on the day?
Yes, through the same page: keep sales open until the start of (or during) the session, and display a QR code leading to the event at the entrance. The buyer pays on their phone and receives their ticket within seconds.
Does Next-Ticket handle the VAT on my tickets?
No: you sell your tickets in your own name and remain responsible for your invoicing and tax obligations. Next-Ticket only invoices its service commission.
Are my data and my buyers' data protected?
Yes. The whole site is encrypted (HTTPS), every QR code is cryptographically sealed, and payments are processed by Mollie: Next-Ticket never sees card numbers. Only you and the members of your organisation can access your buyer list.
In which languages do my buyers see the ticketing?
French, Dutch, English and Romanian, according to their browser language (they can switch). The email and the ticket are sent in the buyer's language. Your event text is shown as you wrote it.
